Yesterday Brandon brought home a project he did at school called, "The Important Things About Me". It was so casually toted home in his backpack and thrown on the kitchen island, but to me it is such a profound statement for a 7 year old. First of all, he lovingly dedicated the book to his sister which brought tears to my eyes. And then he proceeded to outline the only things that really matter in life.
In addition to liking pizza and the color red, Brandon states that the most important things about himself are that he has his own personality and that he has friends. Really, isn't that what life is all about? Being yourself and having people to love?
The most important things, indeed.
