Sporting News: Irish Lose First Game

On Saturday Brandon's baseball team lost a painful game to the Hurricanes with a final score of 14-1. No one was quite sure what happened. At practice on Thursday, the boys scrimmaged another team (the Jayhawks) and completely outplayed them. Everyone had hot bats, the boys played well in the field and beat the Jayhawks in an easy match. On Saturday, the boys looked completely asleep in the field and literally would watch the ball roll past them. To make matters worse, no one could consistently get their bat on the ball. Brandon went 0-2 at the plate was very upset with his performance. He played very well at catcher and made some great plays when he was pitcher, but couldn't get a hit when he was up to bat. Jeff and Coach Lou are planning their next practice carefully and figuring out what went wrong. Hopefully they will be more prepared for their 2 games this weekend.
