Last night Jeff and I went downtown to see Van Halen in concert at the Toyota Center. The tickets were one of my Christmas presents from Jeff. Van Halen is my all-time favorite band and I had never seen David Lee Roth in concert before. I have seen Van Halen with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer about 5-6 times and was very interested to see the difference between Van Hagar and DLR as the front man. It was an awesome show - and so happy to see all the guys still able to do karate kicks and jumps off of amplifiers! Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son) played bass and did a great job. I wonder what he thinks of his dad and his music. He seemed very shy.
Later in the show, Jeff went to get another beer and returned with a bumper sticker for me. Panama is one of my favorite songs and the bumper sticker is PERFECT! I think I will have it framed and hang it in my study rather than stick it on the minivan. If you aren't a Van Halen fan, then you must know that the phrase "I Can Barely See the Road" are lyrics to Panama.
