Last night I took Jeff out to dinner for an early birthday celebration. His real birthday is Friday, but Brandon has a baseball game that night so a romantic dinner is out of the question. He is very into taking pictures lately and is actually quite talented.The reason he is able to use my old camera is that Jeff and I bought a brand new toy. It's a Nikon D40X camera! We have been shopping for a good camera for about a year now and finally made the purchase on Sunday. After many attempts to get good pictures of the kids every day and during special events, we realized that our old camera (Canon PowerShot A530) wasn't going to cut it. We bought the 18-55 mm lens for what the salesperson called "Christmas morning shots" - basically every day use. We also got the 55-200 mm lens for situations where we need some zoom. Like little league baseball games. And ballet recitals.
The new camera is SO much fun and in the first day alone I took 192 pictures. Here are some favorites:
