Last Friday was Jeff's birthday, so this weekend we had friends over to watch A&M get pummeled by Texas Tech. Then we proceeded to watch LSU lose a heartbreaker (our next door neighbors went to LSU and were over here). So, overall it wasn't a good day for football. But there was cake - leftover cupcakes from after the baseball game Friday night (the team sang Happy Birthday to Coach Jeff) and then a cookie cake with a monster truck on it. We grilled fajitas and the kids swam and played upstairs. It was fun even though all of our favorite teams lost (including Illinois where my parents went to undergrad, but that is never a shock in football).
What was left of 2 dozen baseball cupcakes after the gameOn Saturday after Brandon's game, I took Lindsay to a friend's birthday party. He was turning 5 and is really into dinosaurs. So, his dad dressed up like an archeologist (his interpretation at least) and buried plastic dinosaurs in the sand volleyball pit at the park. The kids dug for the dinosaurs, played on the playground and had pizza and (more!) cake.
